Do you love experiencing live theatre with family or friends? Have you ever considered the benefits of coming in a larger group? Omaha Performing Arts offers a group sales option that will save you money, provide perks and a personalized entertainment experience for any group, whether it’s a student group, co-workers, or family and friends.

What is a group sale and how does it work?
A group is when a larger number of seats are reserved under one account for a single performance. The group minimum for every show on our 21/22 Broadway Season is just ten seats. That’s a couple of families and friends, a classroom of students or some co-workers. Group sales are also available for all of our events and typically require a minimum of ten seats. There are no limits to how large a group can be. A group reservation can be arranged with our sales manager by calling 402.661.8156, emailing groups@o-pa.org or filling out a request form on our website here.

What are the benefits of reserving a group?
1. Cost savings
Groups typically save on the ticket price for most performances compared to single ticket prices and always save on the handling fees. Larger groups of 50 or more can also save more money on select performances. We also offer Early Bird pricing on select performances in the Broadway series if booked before the end of June 2021. Early Bird pricing is discounted even more than the typical group discount.

2. Early access
Groups receive early access to all O-pa shows and have access to the best available seats before the general public can purchase individual tickets.

3. Personalized concierge service
Our sales manager will help you find the best seating arrangement at a price that works for everyone in your group. Additionally, the sales manager can help you plan your group outing by making restaurant, hotel, and pre or post-show activity recommendations for your group.

4. Flexible payment options
Groups don’t have to pay for their order up front. You can pay as you go! If placed more than 60 days before the performance, you can reserve your group's seats with just a 25% deposit. We can even offer a one-week courtesy hold before the deposit is due.

After the deposit payment is made, the final balance isn’t due until 60 days before the show, giving you ample time to adjust the order, drop seats and collect money from the group.  If a group reservation is made less than 60 days before the show, we can work with you to create a payment schedule that works for everyone.

There are some challenges group leaders face when coordinating a group outing. Here are a few suggestions to help ease the process:

Create a Facebook group. The first challenge most groups face is picking a date and time that works for everyone. One solution is to create a Facebook group where the group leader can post a message, and everyone can see it and respond. Alternatively, an email thread or text chain is a good way to get in touch with everyone quickly.

Keep it simple. Pick just a few dates (one ideal and one backup) for your group. The larger the group, the simpler you want to keep it when choosing a date and price. If demand is high enough, you can always book another group for a second date as long as you reach the group minimum of ten per performance.

Consider using an app to collect money from your group. Consider using Venmo, Cash App or PayPal to collect funds from everyone. This makes it easy to remind them when payment for their ticket is due.

Theater and live entertainment is more fun when you go with a group! The next time you’re considering coming to one of our shows, ask your friends, family or co-workers and put together a group!
