Parking

For the Holland Center, event parking is available in the Omaha Park Eight garage* starting two hours prior to performances. Omaha Park Eight is located directly to the north of the Holland Center at 13th & Dodge Streets with a second entrance at 13th and Capitol. You can prepay to reserve $3 event parking with the ParkMobile app (select 12th and Capitol as the location and use the 13th and Dodge entrance when you arrive). The garage also accepts cash and credit card at the gate, and costs $5 on site.

Meters run 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Sundays and holidays are free. Accessible parking is available at the Holland Center.

Due to downtown construction, we will no longer be able to offer pre-paid valet at the Holland Center. Drive-up, cash-only valet may be available on a limited basis.

Kiewit Hall
The Peter Kiewit Concert Hall offers seating for 2,000 with a shoebox design that allows for unobstructed views and nuanced, pristine sound throughout the hall. A warm and inviting space, Kiewit Hall gives audience members the feeling that they are "in the room" with the entertainers on stage.

 


 

 Scott Hall
The 350-seat capacity Suzanne and Walter Scott Hall makes every event feel casually sophisticated, with incredible acoustics and unique lighting options. During Holland Music Club performances, patrons enjoy tabled seating and refreshments delivered right to them.

 


 

FoundersRoom_125x125Founders Room

The John and Carmen Gottschalk Founders Room offers donors and special guests private washrooms, coat check and bar service. Special guests often meet in the Founders Room after performances. It was refurbished in 2015 to include new furniture and a special light sculpture.

The Carl G. Mammel Courtyard is an open-air space with a finely landscaped grassy area.

 


 

CasslingCenter_125x125Cassling Education Center
The Cassling Family Education Center is a multipurpose educational complex at the Holland Performing Arts Center featuring a multidisciplinary arts lab for youth performances; space for dance and music master classes and workshops; and fully equipped breakout rooms for classes, meetings and conferences.

 


 

Capstan LoungeCapstan Lounge
Located on Tier 1, the lounge area includes a full bar and indoor/outdoor seating for patrons at the Holland Center.

 


 

Skyview TerraceSkyview Terrace
Skyview Terrace on Tier 2 is an indoor/outdoor lounge offering sweeping views of downtown Omaha and an assortment of beer, wine, specialty cocktails and small plates.

 


 

 Susan Morris Star Artist Suite
The Susan Morris Star Artist Suite is the largest of several artist dressing rooms available in the backstage area of the Kiewit Concert Hall. This Star Suite includes a shower, private dressing space and reception area.

 


 

 The Tim and Teddi Slattery Gathering Room
The Tim and Teddi Slattery Gathering Room was specially designed as an artist gathering area before and after each rehearsal and performance.

Dining

Zinc

Enjoy artful dining at the Holland with a well-crafted meal or decadent dessert at Zinc. Open two and half hours before performances at the Holland Center, Zinc offers the best of the season’s flavors just steps away from the Kiewit Concert Hall. Reservations are recommended. Ovations bar and lounge, a destination for wine, drinks and appetizers before and after the show. Located on the first floor of the Holland Center, Ovations is a place to gather, to celebrate and to give an enthusiastic round of applause to the performing arts in Omaha. The Holland Music Club transforms the Scott Hall at the Holland Center into a cool and cozy nightclub with table seating, light fare and a full bar.

Performance Rentals

The Holland Performing Arts Center is one of the finest venues in the country with widely celebrated acoustics and dynamic room configurations. The 2,000-seat Peter Kiewit Concert Hall is modeled after European "shoebox" shaped halls and detailed with fine-grained woodwork. The Suzanne and Walter Scott Hall, a flexible "black box" space with seating for 350, features a similar feeling of warmth. When you rent the Holland Performing Arts Center, our staff will work closely with you on every detail.

Holland Center's History

1997

Community leaders commission a facilities study at the Orpheum.

 

1999

Key community leaders engage Heritage Services to work with HDR on a design for a possible performing arts center.

 

2000

  • Omaha Performing Arts Society becomes a registered nonprofit organization.
  • Ennead Architects engaged to work with HDR on design of the performing arts center. Acousticians Kirkegaard Associates of Chicago and theater consultants Fisher Dachs Associates of New York are hired to provide advice on an Orpheum renovation and the new performing arts center.

 

2001

The Omaha Performing Arts Society (later Omaha Performing Arts) announces a fundraising campaign including $10 million in Orpheum renovations and funding for a performing arts center. The campaign eventually exceeds $107 million.

 

April 2002

Group selects site at 13th and Douglas streets for the new performing arts center that includes a 2,000-seat concert hall, a 350-seat hall and a courtyard.

 

April 2003

Omaha Performing Arts breaks ground for the new performing arts center to be constructed by Kiewit Construction Co.

 

 

2004

  • In September, Omaha Performing Arts names the new center the Holland Performing Arts Center in honor and recognition of a lead gift from Omahans Richard and Mary Holland.
  • Omaha Performing Arts opens Ticket Omaha, a retail operation that will handle all ticketing for the Orpheum and the Holland Performing Arts Center.
  • Performance spaces are named for donors including the Peter Kiewit Concert Hall and the Suzanne and Walter Scott Hall. Major contributors have areas named in their honor including Conagra Foods, First National Bank, Union Pacific and Mutual of Omaha.
  • In December, the last beam is hoisted to the top of the center during a “topping off” ceremony.

 

September 2005

Construction is finished.

 

October 21, 2005

The Holland Center opens to the public with a grand opening concert and ten days of festivities.

 

2006

Omaha Performing Arts’ administrative offices move to the Holland Center.

 

2007      

The 1200 Club (now the Holland Music Club) opens in the Scott Hall with two performances by actor Jeff Daniels.

 

2009      

  • The Orchestra Gathering Room is named in honor of the Slattery Family.
  • An education center on the orchestra level of the Holland is named for the Robert D. Cassling and Michael S. Cassling Families. This educational wing is used for a variety of Education and Community Engagement programs.

2011      

  • Omaha Performing Arts enhances patron amenities, including a full-service kitchen on the main level of the Holland Center.
  • Omaha Performing Arts takes over presentation of Jazz on the Green.

 

2012      

  • Omaha Performing Arts opens the Clearway Energy Ovations bar and lounge in the main lobby of the Holland Center.
  • Omaha Performing Arts commissions the first study measuring our economic impact.

 

2013      

Omaha Performing Arts installs overhead heating in the Holland Center Arrival Plaza.

 

2014      

  • A new sound system is installed in the Kiewit Concert Hall.
  • First Economic Impact Study conducted.

 

2015      

  • Grand opening of Zinc in the main lobby of the Holland Center.
  • The Holland Center Courtyard is named in honor of Carl G. Mammel.
  • Omaha Performing Arts celebrates the 10th anniversary of The Holland Performing Arts Center.
  • Susan Morris Star Artist Suite named in honor of Susan Morris, president of Heritage Services; Gottschalk Founders Room refurbished.

 

2016

The 2016 update of the economic impact study shows a $40.8 million annual impact on Douglas County and Nebraska.

 

2018

  • Skyview Terrace and Capstan Lounge open on Tiers 1 and 2.
