Omaha Performing Arts (O-pa) has announced that their three major venues between 11th and 13th Streets and Douglas Street and Capitol Avenue in Omaha will now comprise the Dick & Mary Holland Campus, in recognition and honor of the late couple’s vision and generous support of the arts and arts education. Comprised of the Holland Performing Arts Center, Steelhouse Omaha and the forthcoming Tenaska Center for Arts Engagement opening in 2026, the campus is centrally located in downtown Omaha. The campus offers a wide spectrum of performing arts experiences and shows and hosts a broad range of education and engagement programs for the community.

Dick and Mary Holland had a deep passion for the performing arts and education, along with a desire to make the community better through their generous philanthropy. We are thrilled to recognize and honor their passion and generosity for the performing arts through this special campus name.

Today, O-pa welcomes more than 550,000 people to the Holland Campus and Orpheum Theater, which have grown to have a regional economic impact of over $61 million annually. These activities help attract and retain the workforce and contribute significantly to Omaha’s quality of life. The three venues on the Holland Campus have further activated other significant investments in downtown Omaha, and the site of these venues – now known as the Dick & Mary Holland Campus – is centrally located in downtown Omaha.

“Our parents – and especially our father – felt strongly about supporting both the arts and education,” said Nanny Christie, daughter of Dick and Mary Holland. “We think this campus that hosts performances and arts education activities is the perfect way to honor and recognize them.”

“The concept of a campus truly fulfills O-pa’s mission: To present the very best touring artists and productions, to provide extensive and inclusive education and engagement experiences through the performing arts, and to serve as stewards of world-class venues,” said Jack Koraleski, O-pa Board Chair. “The Dick & Mary Holland Campus serves and supports all parts of that mission.”

The venues comprising the Dick & Mary Holland Campus are designed by Ennead Architects, original designers of the Holland Center, along with Holland Basham Architects of Omaha (Steelhouse Omaha and the Tenaska Center for Arts Engagement). Additional project partners include Fisher Dachs, Threshold Acoustics, Kiewit Building Group and TRI Project Solutions.
