I’m back with another “best-kept secret that’s really not a secret at all” as part of our OPA #Protip series.
In these blog posts, I share bits of advice to help you have the most memorable and incredible experience possible when you come to a show at the Holland Performing Arts Center or Orpheum Theater. If there’s a topic you’d like me to shed light on, send an email to socialmedia@omahaperformingarts.org or leave a comment below this post.
This week’s #Protip is so valuable, I always feel like I’m spilling big beans when I share it: Subscribers can exchange their tickets. Let me repeat, subscribers can exchange their tickets. As a subscriber myself, this is my very favorite perk. It’s kind of like magic.
So what does it mean? If you subscribe to one of our series – Broadway, Jazz, Dance, Family, National Geographic Live or Showcase – you can exchange those show tickets for any other Omaha Performing Arts show. Can’t make it to the Tuesday night performance of a Broadway show in your series? Exchange your ticket for another night – or another show altogether.
Last season, I had a conflict come up and couldn’t attend Rodgers & Hammerstein’s THE KING AND I, so I exchanged my season tickets for two extra tickets to WICKED and invited my mom and mother-in-law to a night out. I could have exchanged the tickets for other shows as well like a dance performance or jazz concert as long as they were presented by Omaha Performing Arts.
Want to try it for yourself? Here’s how you can exchange your tickets:
Step 1. Make sure you’re a subscriber. This is a VIP benefit available only to our season subscribers.
Step 2. Call Ticket Omaha at 402.345.0606 or visit the box office at the Holland Performing Arts Center at least 48 hours before the show.
Step 3. Tell the Ticket Omaha representative which tickets you’d like to exchange and have ideas of which date or show works better.
The fine print? If you’re exchanging into a higher-priced performance, you’ll have to pay the difference. There are no refunds for ticket exchanges.
