Italy has given us some of the greatest gifts: pizza, pasta and the Four Italian Tenors! The operatic quartet is coming to the Holland Center on November 2, and to prepare, it's time to learn a little more about these Roman gods.
1. They are fresh faces.
The Four Italian Tenors are a new generation of world-class tenors, and they are on their first U.S. tour. T
heir website promises performances that are captivating, exhilarating, passionate, engaging and mesmerizing, and we are ready for their modern, yet timeless, style.
2. They are extremely talented.
All four members of the ensemble have extensive experience performing. Alessandro D’Acrissa graduated with honors in opera singing at the Conservatory of Cosenza, Federico Serra enrolled at the Liceo Musicale of Varese with specializations for opera singing and piano at just 17 years old, Federico Parisi won "The Youngest Tenor of Italy" award in 2011, and Roberto Cresca began pursued vocal studies at the Conservatory of Music of Santa Cecilia in Rome. Whew!
3. They will teach us a little something about Italy.
The name of the group's show is Viva Italia! which sets the tone for the set list. The four tenors will present a memorable program that highlights some of the most beloved Italian classics. Opera Arias and songs like Schubert's Ave Maria
and That’s Amore
will make for the perfect night of ROME-mance.
