We also celebrated our vibrant creative community with the Nebraska High School Theater Academy Awards Showcase and sent two outstanding actors to the Broadway League’s Jimmy Awards. We celebrated Black talent and Black history at the Voices AMPLIFIED! finale “Let America Be America Again”, featuring local literary, musical, dance and theatrical performances that reflected on the powerful poem by Langston Hughes. And in partnership with the Omaha Arts and Entertainment Awards, we’re seeking submissions from Omaha’s singer-songwriters for the Singer-Songwriter Showcase! Nine local performers performed at The Holland Center in June and up to nine more will take the stage on Aug. 26.
