Omaha Performing Arts has established a national partnership with Wolf Trap Institute for Early Learning Through the Arts, a Pre-K arts education program for local schools, community organizations, and parents/caregivers with children ages 3-6.
O-pa teaching artists will work with teachers to develop lesson plans that integrate music, dance, theatre, puppetry, and storytelling to advance:
- Cognitive and social-emotional development
- Communication and relationship skills
- STEM fluency
- Literacy and language skills
about the program
Omaha Wolf Trap launched in October 2023 in Omaha Public Schools. O-pa will expand to additional schools in Nebraska and Western Iowa in future years. The program will also offer community workshops for parents and caregivers and a family class series to provide a variety of arts activities that families can use at home to reinforce learning and creativity.
