Alicia Olatuja and Raul Midón make their debuts at Omaha Performing Arts

OMAHA, Neb. – (January 28, 2020) – Tired of being cooped up? Join us in March at the Holland Performing Arts Center! Omaha Performing Arts presents jazz vocalist Alicia Olatuja Intuition: Songs from The Minds of Women and guitarist and singer Raul Midón. Tickets, starting at $19, are on-sale at Masks are required during these performances and seating is limited to allow for social distancing. Join us in the lobby at 6:30 PM for a discussion with “Omaha’s Own Queen of Soul,” Kathy Tyree, a director, actress and singer for more than 30 years. Tyree will lead a conversation on Black women in jazz. 

Praised by The New York Times as “a singer with a strong luscious tone,” Alicia Olatuja astounds audiences with her exquisite vocals and artistic versatility. “Intuition,” celebrates the works of female icons including songs of Brenda Russell, Sade, Tracy Chapman, Kate Bush, Angela Bofill and Linda Creed and feature classics such as "Give Me One Reason" and "This Woman's Work." This performance is sponsored by First National Bank and Holland Basham Architects.  Hospitality sponsor is Home2 Suites.

Raul Midón

Raul Midón has released 10 studio albums as a solo jazz artist and is dubbed “an eclectic adventurist” by People magazine. Midón received a Grammy Award® nomination for “Best Jazz Vocal Performance,” and has collaborated with artists like Stevie Wonder, Herbie Hancock and Bill Withers.  The hospitality sponsor for this performance is Home2 Suites.

Health and safety are a priority at the Orpheum Theater and Holland Performing Arts Center. O-pa has implemented several changes to provide the best performing arts experience and ensure the health and safety of patrons, staff, artists, volunteers and the community.  

Heating and Cooling System – Upgrades to air handling units includes bipolar ionization filtering out viruses through ventilation.  

Staff and Patron Precautions – Masks are required for patrons and seating will be socially distanced. Staff and volunteers are required to wear face masks and receive temperature checks.  Anyone with a temperature above 100° or experiencing symptoms will not be permitted on-site.  

Touchless Experience – Faster and more efficient entry into the venues with touchless security checks, mobile ticketing, ticket scanning and cashless transactions.  

Enhanced Cleaning & Sanitation – Electrostatic technology disinfecting large common areas, enhanced sanitizing of high touch surfaces with hospital grade disinfectant and hand sanitizing stations throughout the venues.
